Betty Stars in Film Nominated “Best Short”
Betty starred as the character May in the short film Cigarettes After Dark, which was nominated for Best Short and premiered at the 2023 Beverly Hills Film Festival and the Mexican-American Film & Television Festival.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Fellowship
Betty is thrilled to announce that in the summer of 2019, she became a recipient for the Miranda Fellowship lead by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
This is, “A distinct award from Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Miranda Family for artists of color who have exhibited exceptional passion, drive, and unique points of view in various artistic mediums – including but not limited to theatre, dance, film, visual arts, and music – and are actively working to expand their training. The Fellowship is awarded through partner organizations that work with the Miranda Family to build the national pipeline for artists of color across the field.” Below is an article that describes her experience with this new family of artists.
Alone, Together
Betty has been published by Dramatic Publishing in a collection book of short plays called “Alone, Together”. She originated the role of Jill in the play, “Mom’s Kids” written by James Still. To learn more about the process you can read this Broadway World article below.
What Martha Did
Betty had the wonderful honor of playing Karen in the play What Martha Did, written by Enid Graham. “Taking on a strong, driven, and powerful character was a magical experience. Working on a new play is always exciting, and I am happy I got to contribute to the creation of Karen’s character.”
