The Fellowship is awarded through partner organizations that work with the Miranda Family to build the national pipeline for artists of color across the field.” Below is an article that describes her experience with this new family of artists.

What Martha Did

Betty had the wonderful honor of playing Karen in the play What Martha Did, written by Enid Graham. “Taking on a strong, driven, and powerful character was a magical experience. Working on a new play is always exciting, and I am happy I got to contribute to the creation of Karen’s character.”
“The cast is remarkably adept at portraying this truth, capturing a nuanced profile of a grieving family. The play is filled with stunning displays of emotions…There are too many moments like these to describe as every single one of the cast members delivers a rich, heartfelt performance.”

Cabaret

“The superb student production of Cabaret brings the 2017-18 season for UCSB Theater/Dance to a close on a very high note. Powerful performances across the cast, lavish and provocative period costuming by Ann Bruice, Christina McCarthy’s catchy choreography, Jon Nathan’s effective seven-piece orchestra, creative staging and set design, clever use of the intimate black box space, and a score with beloved, familiar tunes and moving, but lesser-known songs provide a rewarding night of theater.”

The Winter’s Tale

“Using the breadth and depth of the Hatlen Theater stage to maximum effect, the players delivered a clear and swinging account of the script’s complex doublings…Bohemia, by contrast, presents characters both witty, like the rogue Autolycus (Harry Davis) and love struck, like the wonderful Perdita (Betty Galindo) and her suitor Florizel (Vishay Singh). The finale was particularly moving as these disparate kingdoms came together for a series of amazing revelations.”
